Instagram Content Strategies

This week's reading involves Chapter 5, "Marketing with Instagram." Section 8 specifically touches on certain content strategies involving Instagram. With all the evolving software, Instagram has been able to enhance their platform for not only the viewers, but also the users. Instagram has provided multiple tactics for businesses to utilize to help with follower involvement. These tactics include taking advantage of Instagram stories and live videos, leveraging IGTV, selling products with Instagram shopping, promoting limited releases and drops, using influencers, having account takeovers, using emojis and so much more.
If a business is looking to boost their sales, promoting limited releases and drops on Instagram is the way to do it. With the current events this past year, social media was the primary source for many businesses to grow. Some brands partnered with influencers to increase the desirability of their products. Influencers have more of an impact than people are led to think. Over the past few years, Instagram has thrived as the main platform influencers use to promote their brand deals. It's smart for both influencers and businesses to partner, as they both get something out of the deal. Influencers receive a new following and businesses receive more exposure. To keep the attention of their viewers on social media, businesses shouldn't only focus on adding a well-known face to the product, but also focus on the length of its captions. Experimenting with different caption lengths, depending on the photo, can test to see which type the viewers respond more with. This allows for the business to figure out what method works best for their brand.

Marketing with Instagram can be tricky for those not familiar with the platform. Understanding all the tactics and working out the kinks allows a business to run their page most efficiently. Utilizing these tactics can improve a business's appearance tremendously. Stay tuned for next week's tips and tricks to continuing improving your social media presence.

T-Swift Year!

This past weekend, I officially had my last birthday in college. I turned 22 years old this past Friday. While this isn't a milestone birthday like turning 18 or 21, I still wanted to make it memorable. Lucky for me, with my birthday falling on a Friday I had the whole weekend to celebrate.     Friday's typically are very relaxed for me in general because I don't have classes. I woke up to all my family members texting me wishing me a happy birthday. I started the day off by getting ready to go to the gym. I've made going to the gym a big priority in my life. Not only because it helps me feel good about myself, but also because it's something I enjoy. It's always nice going to the gym early in the morning because it's usually empty or only has a few people in it. Luck was on my side because I had an empty gym all to myself. I went about my workout and then headed home to get ready for work. I know what you're thinking, "Hallie, why would you go

Gym Grind

I've never been one to actually workout. All my life, I've been involved with athletics, whether it be basketball, volleyball or cheer, I was always active growing up. Once sports started to get more serious, I decided to stick with volleyball during my time in high school. With summer conditioning, open gym and summer leagues, it's fair to say I was in great shape for my age. Come senior year, I injured my back while playing and was told to stop playing in order for it to heal properly. Deciding to stop playing was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but I knew if I wanted to continue being active at all I should listen to the doctors and put a pause on my activities. Since then, I tried to stay active in a variety of ways, from walking around campus to running in the gym. It wasn't until this past year that I started to really dedicate myself to the gym.     I was going through a pretty rough breakup and fell out of love with myself. I really didn't l

Back to Reality

All good things must come to an end, break has ended. While break was a week long, it still doesn't feel like we had enough time. From the moment I arrived at home, it had been "go go go." It feels like the only time I truly spend at home is when I'm sleeping each night. Let me take you through where my chaotic week has taken me, starting with Friday when I arrived.     Immediately after unpacking the car, I had to turn right around and pick my mom up from work. My mom had just gotten a new car, so she left it at the house for me to pick her up in. I was nervous driving because it was all so new I didn't want to ruin anything. After getting her from work, we ran to some of our favorite stores: HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. After window shopping and picking up some small items, we ended our night with a pizza from our favorite place, Carmela's. Saturday morning, my brother, mom, dad and myself went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast because it was my brot
