Sisterhood Round!

Day Two of sorority recruitment means Sisterhood Round is here! Sisterhood is not something that can be distinctly classified. For each sorority, sisterhood looks and acts differently. For Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA), we pride ourselves on being not only friends or family, but sometimes all a sister has. We support everyone in our sisterhood, whether that be going to their sporting events or hyping them up when they ace their physics exam. We are each other's biggest cheerleaders when needed and this is what our sisterhood means to us.

On our programming council, we have a position strictly in charge of creating sisterhood events known as our Director of Sisterhood. At the three rounds of Sisterhood during recruitment, we had our Director of Sisterhood speak on what sisterhood means to her and explain some of the events she has planned for us. Some events we have done in the past include "Movie Night,""Galantine's Day" and "Game Night." Due to COVID restrictions last semester, many of our sisterhood events had to be virtual, but those restrictions never stopped us from meeting. Now with lightened restrictions, we can return to in person activities and I cannot wait. The purpose of these sisterhood events is to not only enrich our sisterhood as individuals, but also as a chapter. Often we plan our sisterhood events around service we can do around our community as a chapter, to not only better ourselves, but also the community. Sisterhood is a very important thing when it comes to finding your forever home and it's not something we take lightly in ZTA. The purpose of this round is to find potential new sisters in those going though recruitment. We had to ask the right questions to get us to right end results.

Next up we have our last round of recruitment before Bid Day. Our chapter is so excited to reach the end of the process. With Preference Round next, it comes down to potentially the final two chapters girls are deciding on. Stay tuned for the final round!

Until next time XOXO

  1. Hallie, it has been fun reading and learning about your sorority throughout the school year! I think it is great to be in, especially because the friendships it can create for a lifetime. I know how cool and crazy Bid Day can, but I am wishing everyone good luck and I hope everything goes as everyone planned!.

  2. Hi Hallie! I think sisterhood round is a very fun round because you know some of the girls yet are able to meet so many more people. Learning about all of the activities that you will be throughout the year is very exciting and a great way to get new members interested. So excited to hear about the last round and Bid Day!

T-Swift Year!

This past weekend, I officially had my last birthday in college. I turned 22 years old this past Friday. While this isn't a milestone birthday like turning 18 or 21, I still wanted to make it memorable. Lucky for me, with my birthday falling on a Friday I had the whole weekend to celebrate.     Friday's typically are very relaxed for me in general because I don't have classes. I woke up to all my family members texting me wishing me a happy birthday. I started the day off by getting ready to go to the gym. I've made going to the gym a big priority in my life. Not only because it helps me feel good about myself, but also because it's something I enjoy. It's always nice going to the gym early in the morning because it's usually empty or only has a few people in it. Luck was on my side because I had an empty gym all to myself. I went about my workout and then headed home to get ready for work. I know what you're thinking, "Hallie, why would you go

Gym Grind

I've never been one to actually workout. All my life, I've been involved with athletics, whether it be basketball, volleyball or cheer, I was always active growing up. Once sports started to get more serious, I decided to stick with volleyball during my time in high school. With summer conditioning, open gym and summer leagues, it's fair to say I was in great shape for my age. Come senior year, I injured my back while playing and was told to stop playing in order for it to heal properly. Deciding to stop playing was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but I knew if I wanted to continue being active at all I should listen to the doctors and put a pause on my activities. Since then, I tried to stay active in a variety of ways, from walking around campus to running in the gym. It wasn't until this past year that I started to really dedicate myself to the gym.     I was going through a pretty rough breakup and fell out of love with myself. I really didn't l

Back to Reality

All good things must come to an end, break has ended. While break was a week long, it still doesn't feel like we had enough time. From the moment I arrived at home, it had been "go go go." It feels like the only time I truly spend at home is when I'm sleeping each night. Let me take you through where my chaotic week has taken me, starting with Friday when I arrived.     Immediately after unpacking the car, I had to turn right around and pick my mom up from work. My mom had just gotten a new car, so she left it at the house for me to pick her up in. I was nervous driving because it was all so new I didn't want to ruin anything. After getting her from work, we ran to some of our favorite stores: HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. After window shopping and picking up some small items, we ended our night with a pizza from our favorite place, Carmela's. Saturday morning, my brother, mom, dad and myself went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast because it was my brot
