YouTube Content Strategies

While YouTube may seem like just a platform for one's entertainment, it's also a good platform for businesses to promote their brands. Chapter 10 says, "YouTube is the world's most popular online video sharing site and the second most visited site in the world." With this kind of exposure, businesses should be jumping at this opportunity to promote themselves on this platform. YouTube can be tricky for first time users, here are some content strategies to help your business down the road!

Some of the content strategies YouTube includes are having a channel trailer, experimenting with different types of video content, posting videos at regular and optimal times, using YouTube live and keeping viewers engaged. Including a channel trailer on your page gives new customers a chance to view what your brand is about. This is the first video customers will see when going to your page, so make it a good one! Most brands will showcase a video of importance here. This may include an introduction to the brand, a customer story or even a popular product. Your channel trailer is also a good way to experiment with different types of video content. It's important when experimenting with video content to have the brand's target market in mind. Often, shoppers will watch product videos to help boost their confidence in their purchase. Different types of videos brands can experiment with product reviews, interviews, how-to videos, educational videos, Q&A videos, customer testimonials and many more. The goal is to create videos to speak to the interests and passions of a brand's target audience.

While it's great to switch up content, it's important to stay consistent with posting videos at regular and optimal times. Posting consistently not only maintains a video cadence, but also gives subscribers a reason to come back to your channel. If a business slowly fades out of posting, they risk losing subscribers. While a business doesn't want to not post videos, they also want to make sure to not upload multiple videos at once. Spreading videos out over days and weeks can keep videos on the main feed. Throughout social media platform, live streams have become the new wave. YouTube created their own form of livestream for brands to share behind-the-scenes content, guest speakers and more. Planning ahead and creating high-quality videos will lead to a successful livestream. All these content strategies are important, especially keeping viewers engaged. With slow, boring content, it will be hard to keep the attention of viewers. Make videos fun and interactive! Experimenting with YouTube may be a lot of work, but in the end it's worth the investment. To continuing to develop our brands, cheers!

T-Swift Year!

This past weekend, I officially had my last birthday in college. I turned 22 years old this past Friday. While this isn't a milestone birthday like turning 18 or 21, I still wanted to make it memorable. Lucky for me, with my birthday falling on a Friday I had the whole weekend to celebrate.     Friday's typically are very relaxed for me in general because I don't have classes. I woke up to all my family members texting me wishing me a happy birthday. I started the day off by getting ready to go to the gym. I've made going to the gym a big priority in my life. Not only because it helps me feel good about myself, but also because it's something I enjoy. It's always nice going to the gym early in the morning because it's usually empty or only has a few people in it. Luck was on my side because I had an empty gym all to myself. I went about my workout and then headed home to get ready for work. I know what you're thinking, "Hallie, why would you go

Gym Grind

I've never been one to actually workout. All my life, I've been involved with athletics, whether it be basketball, volleyball or cheer, I was always active growing up. Once sports started to get more serious, I decided to stick with volleyball during my time in high school. With summer conditioning, open gym and summer leagues, it's fair to say I was in great shape for my age. Come senior year, I injured my back while playing and was told to stop playing in order for it to heal properly. Deciding to stop playing was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but I knew if I wanted to continue being active at all I should listen to the doctors and put a pause on my activities. Since then, I tried to stay active in a variety of ways, from walking around campus to running in the gym. It wasn't until this past year that I started to really dedicate myself to the gym.     I was going through a pretty rough breakup and fell out of love with myself. I really didn't l

Back to Reality

All good things must come to an end, break has ended. While break was a week long, it still doesn't feel like we had enough time. From the moment I arrived at home, it had been "go go go." It feels like the only time I truly spend at home is when I'm sleeping each night. Let me take you through where my chaotic week has taken me, starting with Friday when I arrived.     Immediately after unpacking the car, I had to turn right around and pick my mom up from work. My mom had just gotten a new car, so she left it at the house for me to pick her up in. I was nervous driving because it was all so new I didn't want to ruin anything. After getting her from work, we ran to some of our favorite stores: HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. After window shopping and picking up some small items, we ended our night with a pizza from our favorite place, Carmela's. Saturday morning, my brother, mom, dad and myself went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast because it was my brot
