Happy anniversary!

While I'm not one to share my personal life, I just reached a milestone in my current relationship. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary. This may seem insignificant to people who have been in longer relationships, but it's crazy to think how fast time went by. To give a little back story, here is how my boyfriend and I met.

My boyfriend, Dylan, and I met here at Ohio Northern University (ONU) our sophomore year in an accounting class. I had been struggling in the class and a friend of mine invited me over to work on homework together. Little did I know, Dylan would also be there. From this encounter on, Dylan and I began to hang out more and the rest is history. What's crazy is Dylan and I had been in the same classes since our freshmen year and we never crossed paths, despite the fact of him being on the golf team at ONU with my roommate. I think it's funny how things work out for the best. Maybe we weren't meant to meet each other freshmen year, maybe sophomore year was our year. It has been a wild ride since the beginning of our relationship, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. While we get to spend all of our time together at school, once summer hits we are long distance. It can be hard some nights when you just want to be with your person, but we make it work. We make sure to find time for one another and find time to see each other, whether it be meeting halfway for dinner or even spending the weekend with each other. While I love the summer, it's great to be back so we don't have to deal with the hassle of when we will see each other next.
For our anniversary, I bought Dylan tickets to the Ohio State University (OSU) versus Purdue University football game next weekend and he was so excited. Buying for a man is either the easiest thing in the world or the hardest, no in between, luckily I did a good job. Dylan bought me a bracelet with our initials on them and the date we started dating, a photo box, a "reasons why I love you" box, flowers and ended with taking me out to dinner. It has truly been a blessing to have Dylan in my life and I wouldn't trade him for the world. We balance each other out which makes us work. While there may be hard times in our relationship, we work through them so we can be the best versions of ourselves for the other person. Dylan, if you happen to stumble upon this blog, I love you and I cannot wait to see where life takes us. Stay tuned for next week's OSU game!

Until next time XOXO,

Hallie

T-Swift Year!

This past weekend, I officially had my last birthday in college. I turned 22 years old this past Friday. While this isn't a milestone birthday like turning 18 or 21, I still wanted to make it memorable. Lucky for me, with my birthday falling on a Friday I had the whole weekend to celebrate.     Friday's typically are very relaxed for me in general because I don't have classes. I woke up to all my family members texting me wishing me a happy birthday. I started the day off by getting ready to go to the gym. I've made going to the gym a big priority in my life. Not only because it helps me feel good about myself, but also because it's something I enjoy. It's always nice going to the gym early in the morning because it's usually empty or only has a few people in it. Luck was on my side because I had an empty gym all to myself. I went about my workout and then headed home to get ready for work. I know what you're thinking, "Hallie, why would you go

Gym Grind

I've never been one to actually workout. All my life, I've been involved with athletics, whether it be basketball, volleyball or cheer, I was always active growing up. Once sports started to get more serious, I decided to stick with volleyball during my time in high school. With summer conditioning, open gym and summer leagues, it's fair to say I was in great shape for my age. Come senior year, I injured my back while playing and was told to stop playing in order for it to heal properly. Deciding to stop playing was one of the hardest decisions I had to make, but I knew if I wanted to continue being active at all I should listen to the doctors and put a pause on my activities. Since then, I tried to stay active in a variety of ways, from walking around campus to running in the gym. It wasn't until this past year that I started to really dedicate myself to the gym.     I was going through a pretty rough breakup and fell out of love with myself. I really didn't l

Back to Reality

All good things must come to an end, break has ended. While break was a week long, it still doesn't feel like we had enough time. From the moment I arrived at home, it had been "go go go." It feels like the only time I truly spend at home is when I'm sleeping each night. Let me take you through where my chaotic week has taken me, starting with Friday when I arrived.     Immediately after unpacking the car, I had to turn right around and pick my mom up from work. My mom had just gotten a new car, so she left it at the house for me to pick her up in. I was nervous driving because it was all so new I didn't want to ruin anything. After getting her from work, we ran to some of our favorite stores: HomeGoods, TJ Maxx and Marshalls. After window shopping and picking up some small items, we ended our night with a pizza from our favorite place, Carmela's. Saturday morning, my brother, mom, dad and myself went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast because it was my brot
