After the long month, I couldn't wait for Thanksgiving break. I looked forward to being able to relaxing and not have to think about school for the week. Unfortunately, a majority of my break consisted of me working. I work at a small business called GV Art & Design. It's a Cleveland based T-shirt store. I work in the shipping department with my sister, so it's always a fun time. With Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, the store was trying to keep up with all of the orders. Surprisingly, we were more prepared this year than last year.
As for the real reason I came home, Thanksgiving dinner was great. While I don't tend to eat much of the food, it's great being able to see all of my family. I especially like being able to celebrate my birthday early with my family. In my family, there are three birthdays within two weeks of each other, so we tend to put them all together and celebrate them at once. My Uncle Nick, my older brother David and myself are those three birthdays. This year is my 21st birthday and I'm super excited to celebrate with all of my friends. Before I came back, my mom left me with two big bags of presents. It's tradition in our family on your 16th birthday and your 21st birthday that you get 16 and 21 little gifts. Unfortunately, I won't be able to be with my mom for my birthday because we're already back at school, but I still plan to call her and open my gifts over FaceTime. My friends have planned a full weekend for me and I can't wait! The sad thing about coming back from break is you get sucked back into the reality of school. With finals week approaching, lots of classes are picking up speed and giving out all last-minute assignments. In fact, I just got assigned a lengthy research paper I need to finish by the end of the week. Hopefully my blog next week will be more entertaining than this one!
Until next time XOXO,
Hallie
Happy birthday Hallie! Being able to go home is such a nice feeling and I am happy you were able to celebrate your birthday early with your family. I get the feeling of coming back to school and getting in all of the final assignments. We are so close to finishing for the semester, you can do it!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and birthday! So proud of all the hard work you do... sounds like you had a busy break, but glad you could spend it with your family :)
