House Hunters!

Welcome back everyone! Today, I do not have a sorority story, but have no fear because this house hunter tale is just as exciting. At Ohio Northern University, it is standard policy for students to live on campus, in either dorms or apartments, for the first three years of schooling. After those three years, students can live off campus in rental houses. This does not include those who normally live within commuting distance, but this is typically a very big deal for some people, myself included. Don't get me wrong, the dorms and apartments on campus can be very nice and convenient, but living on your own in a real house is so much more appealing wouldn't you say? The downside to house hunting in Ada, Ohio is there are not many newer, affordable homes to rent out, especially as a college student. GO GREEK!

As the summer starts to wind down, back to school begins for many individuals. With the stress of moving in and meeting new people, many start to look for an outlet to escape. Well, I have the perfect solution, Greek life. Greek life on every campus is handled very differently. Here at Ohio Northern University (ONU), there are four different chapters for young women to join. The four chapters include Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Zeta, Kappa Alpha Theta and Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA). Each of these chapters have different causes of service, in which they raise awareness and money to donate. For these chapters to gain new members, a recruitment process is held for any potential new members. Recruitment consists of four rounds, Open House, Sisterhood, Philanthropy and Preference. Following Preference, recruitment then wraps up with Bid Day. The kickoff of the recruitment rounds starts with Greekapalooza, an open event to anyone interested in Greek life, who just wants to learn a little bit more
