Recruitment is Finally Over!

Last year, I was so excited for recruitment and was sad at how fast it went. This year, I couldn't be happier it's finally over. Being on the back end of recruitment, many people don't realize all the work going into things. I have been planning recruitment since last spring. All summer, I held meetings to go over recruitment logistics. With all the preparations held during the summer, one would think things would be smooth sailing once we returned to school, wrong.      Pretty much anything you could think of going wrong went wrong with recruitment rounds. The first round, Philanthropy, was definitely the toughest round. We had 15 girls who had to be fast movers through rounds. Fast movers are people who had to show up late to rounds and have condensed schedules so they could still see each house. We tried to prepare as much as possible when planning recruitment for fast movers, but nothing could have prepared us for how Thursday night ran. I felt as if I was running

Man I Am Stressed

If you skipped over the title of this blog, you missed the entire purpose of this blog. Yesterday, I began to lay out my week because I knew it was going to be filled. Monday is completely filled with work and night meetings. These night meetings pertain to my position on the Panhellenic Council as the Vice President of Recruitment. This weekend is the start of our official Formal Recruitment rounds. As the person in charge of putting on this weekend long event, I have many fine details I need to figure out before Thursday. Not only is my day filled with work and meetings on Mondays, but I always have an assignment due by midnight for my International Short Stories course. Typically, I would work ahead to get it done, however, the professor doesn't release the assignment until the day before, so it doesn't leave me much time. After I do this assignment, my school work is far from over. Tuesday, I have an exam in my Organizational Behavior course. I'm going to let you i

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was fun filled and with the week I was having, I needed it. Before I get into my weekend, let me fill you in on my week. Coming back from Labor Day weekend, I couldn't find my groove again. Assignments started to pile up and I couldn't keep up. Not only was my classwork piling up, my workload was also getting slightly more demanding. With different events coming up within the Law school, I had to make new promotional posts for all of them. When working with multiple organizations, everyone wants a say in how their posts turn out, which turns into multiple communications back and forth, ultimately dragging the review process on. Making posts can be really simple, however, it becomes hard when people are not providing you with the content that you need. On top of my school work and workload, my work for my position as the vice president of recruitment has picked up as well. Recruitment rounds officially begin next Thursday, meaning we are working out all of

Labor Day Weekend

If you had a chance to read last week's blog, I mentioned my going home for Labor Day weekend. The weekend home was absolutely a hot mess. The only time I spent at home was when I went to bed. Three of the days that I was home, I decided to work so I could make some money for school. Immediately when I got back home, I was dropped off at the stadium and started to work. I had only told one of my supervisors I was coming back for the weekend, so when everyone saw me, they were really surprised. I may complain from time to time about work, but I really do love my job. I get paid to watch baseball, play fun games with children and occasionally dress up as a hot dog.       Both  Friday and Saturday night were pretty relaxed nights and nothing crazy happened. However, Sunday was a whole different story. Typically, Sunday games are played at 1:10 p.m., sometimes slightly earlier. However, this Sunday the game was at 2:40 p.m., meaning the game would end between 5:30 and 6 p.m., stil
